Sometimes, that sneaky wax fills the little grooves of the wood grain. If freezing didn’t get it all, use a low-heat hair dryer. Set it on low and warm the spot for a few seconds.
Don’t melt the wax into a puddle! You just want to soften it slightly. Then, instantly wipe it with a paper towel. The towel soaks up the liquid wax like a thirsty sponge.
You might need to do this a few times. It’s like convincing a stubborn toddler to get out of the bathtub—gentle but persistent. And stop using the heat if you see the wood finish bubbling!
