You might be thinking, “I don’t even live in London!” But here’s the thing: mayors shape the vibe of global cities, and that vibe ripples worldwide. Whether it’s congestion charges, green spaces, or late-night culture, Khan’s years in charge have influenced how we think about urban living. It’s like knowing the chef of your favorite restaurant—suddenly, the meal tastes more interesting.
Plus, let’s be real: time flies, and tracking someone’s work history is a sneaky way to reflect on your own. Have you accomplished seven years of anything? Probably yes, and that’s worth a high-five. This isn’t politics; it’s a shared human clock that makes life feel a little more connected.

The Fun Part: A Timeline of Tiny Wins
Here’s where it gets playful. Imagine if every year of Khan’s mayorship was a flavor of tea. Year one? A brisk Earl Grey—fresh and full of promise. Year two? A smoky Lapsang Souchong—controversial but bold. By year seven? Maybe a comforting chai, because stability tastes good. See? Cities are edible metaphors.
Or think of it like this: if you’ve been dating someone for seven years, you’ve probably had arguments about dishes in the sink. Same goes for a mayor—only the sink is the Thames, and the dishes are transport strikes. It’s messy, human, and oddly endearing. That’s the magic of paying attention to these little details.
