You don’t need to be a superfan to enjoy this. It’s like learning that the person who played your favourite teacher in a show also voiced a talking carrot in a kid’s film. It’s delightful. It makes you smile and think, “Huh, small world.”
And let’s be real: we all love a bit of soap gossip. It’s the verbal equivalent of finding a forgotten packet of crisps in your cupboard. Satisfying, a little salty, and perfect for sharing.

What Happened to Debbie?
In the show, Debbie and Nigel’s marriage eventually fell apart. She left Walford, and Nigel moved on. But in real life, Kimberly Costello didn’t leave the acting world. She popped up in The Bill, Holby City, and a few other shows. She even did some theatre—which is like a behind-the-scenes bonus level for actors.
So the next time you’re channel-surfing and see a familiar face from a decade ago, you can pause and say, “Hey, that’s Dr. Trueman’s former sister-in-law from EastEnders.” You’ll sound clever, and your sofa will feel a little more like a front-row seat.
