If you really want to "test" your body’s pH, skip the strips and look at your life. Are you eating mostly whole foods? Sleeping? Not stress-eating chocolate at midnight? Your body is already doing the hard work. The strips are fun toys, but they’re not a diagnosis. They’re more like a mood ring for your bladder.
So go ahead, buy a pack of pH strips for ten bucks. Spit, pee, and marvel at the colors. But for the love of all that is holy, don’t treat a purple strip like a crystal ball. Jen finally calmed down after I told her the color was probably from her beet salad and not a sign of her body melting. She bought a second strip, tested it after a glass of milk, and got a perfect 6.5. She’s now an armchair pH expert. You’ve been warned.
