Driving up to Vantage Point, your first thought might be, “Did someone drop a giant Lego set?” It’s a chunky, modern structure that doesn’t try to be cute—it just is. The building has a kind of “I woke up like this” energy, all grey and glass and very un-Brighton-pier.
But here’s the surprising fact: inside those walls, the views are almost illegal. Locals joke that if you lean out the wrong window, you can see France waving back. I’m exaggerating, but only slightly—the sightlines over Brighton are genuinely bonkers.
The View That Costs a Mortgage
Why is it called Vantage Point? Because the architects clearly stood there, looked at the sea, and said, “Let’s charge people for this.” On a clear day, you can spot the Seven Sisters cliffs, the Palace Pier, and maybe your ex’s new partner walking a dog. It’s a panorama that makes you forget you’re paying rent in a city where seagulls have a higher standard of living.
One resident told me they watched a hot air balloon land on the beach from their kitchen. Another claims they saw a man fight a swan near the marina. I can’t confirm that last one, but I want to believe it.
