This is the big one. They have three hours. The theme is “2026: The Future.” One baker makes a spaceship out of sponge cake. It has icing thrusters. They leak blue goo.
Another baker goes for “Global Peace.” It’s a globe made of marshmallow fondant. The continents are melting. Australia slides off into a puddle of jam. “It’s a metaphor,” the baker insists. Prue nods, seriously.
Then the swimmer unveils a cake shaped like a giant champagne bottle. It pops open. Inside are tiny cupcake corks. The crowd actually gasps. It’s the only thing that works perfectly.
A Very Tense Bunker
Noel Fielding wears a silver hat shaped like a party horn. He uses it as a microphone. When he speaks, the hat flutters. Everyone laughs—except the baker whose cake just collapsed into a heap of fondant and tears.
Alison Hammond gives a pep talk. “It’s just cake,” she says. “And if it’s bad, we eat it with whipped cream.” This is the life advice we all need. Preach.
Paul tastes the spaceship. He grunts. Then he takes a second bite. “The crumb is good,” he says. That’s peak Bake Off excitement. The baker nearly faints.
