Don’t totally despair yet. You can still get some digital convenience. Aldi does have home delivery in some places, but it’s a weird loophole. It’s not through Aldi themselves. You have to use a service like Instacart or Deliveroo.
So you order through a third party. Then a total stranger (a very nice stranger, I’m sure) runs around the store grabbing your stuff. They bring it to your doorstep. You pay a premium for this privilege. Is it worth it? Maybe when you have the flu and need more of that weirdly good German gummy candy.
But it’s not Click and Collect. It’s “Click and Hope They Find the Right Aisle.” And you can’t really blame Aldi. Their entire business model hates waste. Click and Collect means you order a bag of apples, you don’t show up, and now they have a sad bag of apples. Aldi hates sad apples.
The Real Reason It’s Never Happening (Probably)
Let me paint you a picture of a typical Aldi trip. You walk in. There is no music. You grab a box—not a cart, a box. You speed-walk like you’re in a grocery store Olympics. You throw items in. You pay at a register that moves at light speed.

Then you bag your own groceries. Frantically. While the person behind you sighs. That entire experience is designed to be fast. Adding a Click and Collect area would slow things down. It would be like putting a traffic light in the middle of a racetrack.
Also, imagine the pickers. They’d need to navigate the “Aisle of Chaos” (the middle one with random kayaks and chainsaws). They’d have to deal with the single-minded shoppers who will run you over for the last bag of frozen shrimp. It’s a nightmare waiting to happen.
