First, don’t panic. Panic freezes pipes faster than cold air. If you turn on a faucet and only a sad little dribble comes out, you might have ice. Keep the faucet open (pressure needs to escape) and gently warm the pipe with a hair dryer, heating pad, or space heater. Never use an open flame—that’s a one-way ticket to a house fire.
Start warming from the faucet end and work your way down. Be patient. Ice melts slowly, and rushing it is how pipes burst. You’ve got this.
