Best guess? Late 2026 is optimistic, early 2026 is realistic. If you see a pre-order link appear, grab it like a dragon snatching a sheep. But don’t be shocked if it gets pushed to summer 2026—Onyx Storm is a big book with a bigger world.
In the meantime, pray to whatever god you believe in (Malek? Dunne? The Maternity leave gods?). And maybe read something short, like War and Peace, to pass the time.
The Final, Unsatisfying Answer
There is no official date. Zero. Zilch. Nada. But here’s my hot take: expect it by December 2026, and if it’s later, scream into a pillow. That’s the Empyrean way.
Until then, keep your dragon-sight sharp and your snacks ready. The wait is brutal, but the payoff will be worth it—or at least, that’s what I tell myself every single day.
