First, check the most obvious culprit: your headlight switch. Sometimes it’s not fully turned off, or it’s stuck in a weird “auto” mode that’s actually just “always on.” Twist it firmly to “off” and then back to “on,” then off again. I’ve done this while still holding the burrito—it works more often than you’d think.
If that doesn’t work, look for a dial or button near the steering wheel that controls the interior lights or fog lights. I once spent twenty minutes panicking because my parking lights were on—turns out I’d accidentally bumped the fog light knob. Classic me. Turn every knob you see to the “off” position, even the one for the dashboard brightness, just to be sure.
