Now, I know what you're thinking, "what's the big deal about carry on size?" Well, my friend, it's all about the bin space. You see, airlines have limited space in the overhead bins, and if your bag is too big, it's going to get bumped to checked luggage. And trust me, you don't want that, unless you enjoy waiting at the baggage claim for what feels like an eternity.
But here's the thing, carry on sizes can vary from airline to airline. Some airlines, like Spirit, are super strict, while others, like Southwest, are a bit more relaxed. So, it's always best to check ahead of time, unless you want to be stuck at the gate, bag in hand, feeling like a total fool.

And then there's the personal item conundrum. You know, that smaller bag that you're allowed to bring on in addition to your carry on. It's like, how small is too small? Can you fit a laptop in there? How about a snack? The answer, my friend, is it depends. But one thing's for sure, it's always better to err on the side of caution.
