Staff sometimes get a couple of tickets. They might not even want them. They’ve seen the show a million times. They’re probably sick of the glitter by now. You can be their ticket away from the sequins.
Don’t be shy. Ask around. Send a cheeky text. “Hey, any chance you have a spare ticket to a little dance show you might be working on?” Play it cool. Play it very, very cool.
Finally, never give up hope. People cancel. People’s plans change. The official website sometimes releases last-minute returns a few days before the show. Keep refreshing that page like your life depends on it.
Your fingers will cramp. Your eyes will go blurry. But imagine the payoff: you, in that studio audience, gasping as someone forgets their paso doble. It’s worth the digital agony.
So, go apply. Join the queue. Bid on that auction. And if all else fails, a really good TV and a bag of crisps is a perfectly acceptable substitute. We can watch together, from our sofas, dreaming of that glitter. Cheers to that.
