Every year, someone argues we should ditch the clock change entirely. The EU almost abolished it in 2019, but they couldn’t agree on which time to keep. Classic. We’re stuck in this limbo of springing forward and falling back until someone makes a decision.
Personally, I’m torn. I love the long summer evenings, but I hate the dark winter mornings. The real irony is that Ireland and the UK change together to keep things simple—except for Northern Ireland, which shares a land border with the Republic. Brexit didn’t fix that one, did it?
For now, we’re committed to the biannual shuffle. So mark your calendar: last Sunday of March, 1:00 AM. Set a reminder. And maybe buy a bag of coffee for the next morning—you’ll need it.
