For London to get proper snow, two things must happen. First, a blast of cold air has to sweep down from the Arctic or Siberia.
Second, this cold air has to collide with a moist, wet system from the Atlantic. It’s a weird weather cocktail.
If the timing is slightly off, you get nothing. Or, even worse, you get sleet. Sleet is just snow that gave up on life. It’s a cruel joke.
The "Pavement Panic" Factor
Here’s a quirky truth: the Met Office often issues a weather warning for one centimetre of snow. One centimetre!
That’s nothing in Canada or Russia. But in London, it shuts down schools and makes everyone walk like a penguin.
We simply don’t have the infrastructure. We have gritters, sure, but they tend to get stuck trying to get to the depot. It’s hilariously British.
