Here’s where it gets fun. Not all tickets go on sale to the general public at once. Oh no. There’s a whole pre-sale circus that happens first. That’s when fan club members, credit card holders, and people who clicked “allow notifications” get first dibs.
The most common pre-sale is the Artist Pre-Sale, which usually happens a day or two before the general public sale. To access it, you often need a special code. Where do you get that code? From the same mailing list or fan club I mentioned earlier. Don’t skip this step—those codes are gold.

Another big one is the American Express pre-sale. If you have an Amex card (or know a friend with one who owes you a favor), you can often buy tickets a whole day early. It’s like having a fast pass at Disneyland, but for music. Pro tip: be ready to share your card number and a heartfelt “thank you” to that friend.
What Time Do Tickets Actually Drop?
For most major tours, tickets go on sale at 10:00 AM local venue time. Why 10? Because the ticket gods decided that’s when chaos should begin. But always double-check your specific venue. Some start at noon. A few rebellious ones start at 9 AM just to keep you on your toes.
My advice? Be logged into your account at least 15 minutes before the sale time. Refresh the page like your life depends on it. And don’t panic if you see a virtual waiting room—that’s normal. Just don’t open multiple tabs, okay? The system gets suspicious and might boot you to the back of the line.
