Prince Hans is played by Santino Fontana. He’s the guy who betrays Anna. Fontana made him too charming. Directors had to dial it back. “Be less likable,” they said.
Fun fact: Hans was originally a villain from the start. Fontana fought for his “twist” ending. He wanted Hans to seem genuine. It worked. You hated him more.
Santino also sings on Broadway. His voice is like velvet. But you still want to punch Hans. That’s great acting.
The Little Troll Dude
You know the trolls? The wise rocks with big noses? That’s Ciaran Hinds and Alan Tudyk. Yes, Alan Tudyk. He’s in everything.
Tudyk voiced the Duke of Weselton too. He made up a silly German accent on the spot. It stuck. “Weasel-town” jokes? All him.
Ciaran Hinds? He’s the guy from Game of Thrones. He did the troll king’s voice in one take. “Eat the cookie,” he croaked. Perfect.
