The delegates were intellectual magpies—they stole shiny ideas from Romans, Native Americans, French philosophers, and even grumpy medieval barons. Their government is a Frankenstein monster stitched together from bits of history. And it works, sort of, like a car held together with duct tape and hope.
Next time someone says "the founders were geniuses," remind them: they borrowed from everyone. Even the Iroquois, even Locke, even that mustachioed French dude. They just had the good sense to write it down and add a Bill of Rights. Or, as I call it, the "Wait, we forgot to mention free speech" amendment.
Now go enjoy your republic. It’s a beautiful mess built on five thousand years of other people’s mistakes. Cheers.
