If you’re tired of playing whack-a-mole with ads, get a proper ad blocker. There are apps like AdBlock Plus or Blokada (my personal favorite because it sounds like a punch in the jaw to ads).

Here’s the catch: some of these apps work as a local VPN. That means they filter all your internet traffic—ads get blocked before they even reach your screen. It’s like having a bouncer at the digital nightclub of your phone. “Sorry, you’re not on the list, ad.”
Step Three: The DNS Trick
You can also change your phone’s DNS settings (which is tech-speak for “tell your phone to ignore ad servers”). Go to Wi-Fi settings, tap on your connected network, and find “Advanced” or “IP settings.” Switch it to Static, and in the DNS field, type in dns.adguard.com.
Don’t worry about messing something up—you can always switch it back. Think of it as giving your phone a new phone book where the ad companies are listed under “Do Not Call.” It’s basically a digital restraining order.
