Every day, manager Mike Shildt plays a game of baseball chess. The pieces are fast, loud, and sometimes a little chaotic. Today’s lineup is no different.
Fernando Tatis Jr. is out there, probably. He’s the guy who makes diving catches look like dance moves. If he’s not in right field, check the dugout for a pout.
Then there’s Manny Machado. He glares at the pitcher. He adjusts his gloves. He hits a double that sounds like a gunshot. Pure drama, every time.
Wait, Who’s Batting Leadoff?
This is where it gets fun. The leadoff spot is a mystery box. Sometimes it’s Xander Bogaerts, who looks like he just stepped out of a GQ photoshoot. Other times, it’s a speedster like Jurickson Profar.
Profar is a menace. He’ll take a 12-pitch at-bat, foul off a bunt, then steal second base while you blink. He’s the gremlin of the lineup.
And don’t sleep on Jake Cronenworth. He’s the guy who looks like a math teacher but hits rockets. He also pitches in blowouts. A two-way nerd? We love it.
