If a lemon appeared because of a spill or a playful mess, cleanup should be your default. Even if it’s harmless, citrus juice can leave sticky residue and can irritate skin if you’re sensitive.
Start with gentle removal. Put on gloves if you have them, or at least avoid contact with eyes and mouth. Bag any waste and wipe surfaces with warm water and mild dish soap. If the lemon was sliced or leaking, clean around the area—not just the center spot.
If you’re dealing with a sticky floor or counter, finish with a dry wipe. The smell will fade, and you’ll reduce the chance of ants or other pests being attracted to residue.
