You pull up to this place in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and it’s like Dolly herself threw a glitter bomb at a Norman Rockwell painting. The lobby is a sensory overload in the best way. There are guitars on the walls, song lyrics carved into the woodwork, and a chandelier that probably weighs more than my car. It smells like vanilla and maybe a little bit of ambition.
Is it subtle? Absolutely not. Is it Dolly? You bet your sweet bippy it is. The staff greets you like they’ve known you since kindergarten. I half-expected them to hand me a microphone and ask me to sing “Jolene” at check-in. (I would have bombed, but they’d clap anyway.)
The Rooms: A Cozy Hug From Aunt Dolly
Let’s talk about the rooms, because that’s where you actually sleep. Or try to, between squealing over the decor. My room had a record player and a stack of Dolly’s vinyls. Not CDs, not a Spotify code—actual vinyl. Do you know how risky that is? That’s a business decision.
The beds are so plush you might need a running start to climb in. The pillows are like little clouds made of ambition and goose feathers. And the bathroom mirror? It’s framed with songwriting sheets. I spent an embarrassing amount of time reading “I Will Always Love You” while brushing my teeth. Don’t judge me.
There are also custom throw blankets with Dolly’s silhouette on them. I may or may not have tried to fit one in my carry-on. (Spoiler: I did not succeed, but I have a plan for next time.)
