Here’s the funny thing: we’re all a little bit Blake Fielder Civil. You’ve got that one cousin who’s always "between opportunities," or the friend who claims to be a "brand strategist" but you only see them at brunch. Blake is like the mythical creature of the "what do you do" conversation at parties. He’s the answer to "What’s your job?" that makes everyone pause and go, "Wait, what?"
So, next time you’re at a networking event and someone asks, "What does Blake Fielder Civil do for a living?" you can smile and say, "He’s a professional plot twist." One day he’s working on a construction site, the next he’s doing an interview about his past, and the day after that he’s having a quiet coffee like a normal human. That’s his hustle. It’s messy, it’s real, and it’s not that different from your own side quests—except your drama hasn’t been turned into a documentary. Yet.
And that, my friend, is the unscripted anchor of the whole thing. He doesn’t fit in a neat box. He’s not a doctor, a lawyer, or a barista. He’s a guy working on being okay, one day at a time, while the world watches and wonders. You’ve been there too. Maybe not in the tabloids, but definitely in your own life. So give him a nod. He’s just doing his best, and honestly, that’s the most professional thing any of us can do.
