Stop. Just stop. Cold turkey. If you need to chew, get some sugar-free gum. If you need cold, drink an iced drink—with a straw—so the ice never touches your teeth. If you have an uncontrollable urge to eat ice, go see a doctor and check your iron levels. Your teeth are not a tugboat. Stop treating them like one.
And if you absolutely, positively, cannot resist? Fine. But at least use a crushed ice machine. The smaller bits are less likely to crack your enamel—think of it as the difference between stepping on a Lego versus stepping on a landmine. Still dumb, but slightly less dumb. Your mouth will thank you. Your dentist will be sad (they love buying boats). Do the right thing: let the ice stay in your glass, where it belongs.
