One concern with any portable shower is water usage and waste. Digi tents bathing systems use a closed-loop design. The water goes from the reservoir, through the heater, out the showerhead, and onto the ground inside the tent. The tent floor catches the water, but it eventually seeps into the soil. This is fine for biodegradable soaps, but you should never use harsh chemicals.
Battery disposal is another issue. Lithium-ion batteries are recyclable, but many people throw them in the trash. Always recycle your batteries at a designated facility. Some manufacturers offer take-back programs. The environmental footprint of a digi tents bathing system is higher than a solar bag, but lower than a propane heater that uses disposable canisters.
Water conservation is also important. A typical digi tents bathing system uses about 10 liters per shower. That is less than a home shower (which uses 50-100 liters) but more than a solar bag (which uses 5-8 liters). Be mindful of your water usage, especially in dry areas.
