Claudia Magallan-Berroud

Claudia Magallan-Berroud advocates for individuals with barriers to employment. She has presented and written on topics for job seekers with disabilities and other barriers to employment, including: employment history, education, and incarceration. Currently she blogs on such issues via the Workforce Solutions BlogForce.

Claudia’s passion for her work and “let’s do something about it” spirit is revered by community partners and has made her the go-to person in matters of employment of persons with disabilities and other barriers.

As a mother of two, balancing family and work, she has been blessed with many opportunities to encourage inner-city families to break the cycle of poverty and reach for their dreams. She plans to start “Families with OUT Barriers” in 2012, a non-profit organization addressing the needs of children and families affected by incarceration.

Claudia graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American with a degree in Communication/ Journalism. Claudia and her husband, Kevin, live in Houston, where they are raising two biracial daughters, Makayla, 7, and Malia, 2.
